In honor of the Nuestra Virgen del Pilar, Zamboangueños all over the world celebrates Fiesta Pilar too. They gathered families and friends and have simple but fun celebrations. It was also the best time for family reunions, re-acquainting with old friends, and as well as
meeting new friends.

You know, it is not at all easy time when you’re out there. It gets lonely sometimes and homesick.  Weekends are usually doing household chores and shopping for household needs. We are fortunate here that we have house helpers to do laundry and cleaning the house for us. But Fiesta Pilar gives one good reasons why all Zamboangueños abroad in
one country or state at least meet once a year. It makes them feel good as they get the warm embraces and kisses of fellow Zamboangueños.

From USA to UK, I am sharing to you pictures of their Fiesta Pilar – Zamboanga style.
Belated happy fiesta to all the Zamboangueños out there!

Trivia: Grand Fiesta Pilar in Zaragoza, Spain. The Pilar Festival (Fiestas del Pilar) is celebrated every year on the 12th of October in Zaragoza, Spain. During the week leading up to this official date, Zaragoza comes alive with music, parades, flowers, and theatre in

honour of the Virgin of Pilar. The female patron saint of Spain is honored with an abundance of flowers as the history and culture of Spain is remembered and celebrated. Trails of roses, lillies, orchids, and gladiolus wind their way to the Plaza de Pilar as an offering to the Virgin like what we do in Zamboanga City.
