Jalosjos denies expanding political clout to Zambo PDF Print E-mail

“Its ‘Amor Con Amor Se Paga’ with Zamboanga City” was the immediate queer answer of Zamboanga Del Norte District 3 Rep. Cesar Jalosjos to the question of whether it is true the Jalosjos clan is expanding its political clout to Zamboanga City.

Rep. Jalosjos’ reply may mean two things: First, he was probably endorsing Rep. Erbie A. Fabian, his good friend in Congress, for the mayoralty post in 2013, because the adage is Fabian’s official and signature saw, and second, he could have meant that the Jalosjos family is grateful to Zamboanga City where they have stayed and still have a residence at present.

However, Rep. Jalosjos clarified that what he meant is that the Jalosjos family has good relationship with the incumbent officialdom of Zamboanga City, including, Fabian, Rep. Beng Climaco and Mayor Celso Lobregat.

In an interview, Jalosjos said the political climate of Zamboanga City is presently with “strong foundation and the people have chosen outstanding leaders who are running it and its affairs properly in consonance to the objectives of attaining progress and development.

“There is no reason for the (Zamboanga City) people to venture and support other political clans or organizations to run the affairs of their city,” he said.

The Zamboanga del Norte solon said his province is also in good relationship with the leaders of Zamboanga City, particularly his coleagues in Congress Deputy Speaker and District 1 Rep. Beng Climaco-Salazar, and Rep. Fabian as his seat mate, close personal friend and coleague in the Nacionalista Party where the Jalosjos family in Zamboanga del Norte province also belongs.

“Our alleged invasion in Zamboanga is only a rumor, not in our personal knowledge. We don’t have plans to put a Jalosjos in Zamboanga, Beng is my kumare, Erbie is my co-party member, so why should we go there,” Jalosjos clarified.

Jalosjos revealed that for several times and even just recently some people from Zamboanga City visited them and wanted the Jalosjos to run in Zamboanga, but they haven’t taken it seriously as there is no serious matter about it because they don’t have plans to meddle in Zamboanga politics.
“Let’s leave Zamboanga City to its present leaders. The city is in good hands with the able leadership and sound management of Erbie, Beng and Mayor Celso Lobregat as records show. The Jalosjoses are not traitors to friends and allies,” he stressed.

The same view was shared by Zamboanga del Norte District 1 Rep. Seth Jalosjos and Zamboanga Sibugay District 2 Rep. Romeo Jalosjos,Jr who said their clan is having one voice in terms of political stand and decisions.

“Although we have a lot of friends there in Zamboanga, mucho conose, de alya tamen kita, pero para comigo, last term yo ara na congress,  I will run as governor in Zamboanga del Norte. My brothers and nephews are in their 1st term also, so how could we run in Zamboanga. Very simple, we would rather support our allies there,” Rep. Cesar Jalosjos said.

At present the Jalosjoses are occupied in coming up with coordinative efforts and strategies in addressing the peace and order problem here in Western Mindanao together with their colleagues in Congress.

Rep. Jalosjos said they also had talks with the representatives of Zamboanga City with regard to the initiatives to be undertaken in the current peace and security problem in the region. — Bhong Simbajon
