In an expected twist, District 2 Congressman Mannix Dalipe will be running with Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco- Salazar in the 2019 election.

This is contrary to earlier reports that the duo will not be running together in one party after Climaco-Salazar  junked Dalipe due to the reported prodding of a main party supporter.

Dalipe will run under the party of Climaco-Salazar as District 2 Representative anew, according to City Hall spokesperson Jawo Jimenez.

Vice-Mayor Cesar Iturralde, earlier reported to be considered as Climaco-Salazar’s District 2 Congressional candidate, has confirmed to run for the same position as an Independent candidate.

“Considering that I’m already on my last term, then definitely I have nowhere to go. my friends and supporters is expecting me to run for a higher position then I will have to run as independent for congressman.”  Iturralde said in an interview.

Iturralde, who is on his last term as Vice-Mayor, joined Climaco-Salazar when the latter separated from former partymate Congressman Celso Lobregat.

The line-ups of both parties will be known on October 17, the last day of filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COC).  (RGAAGo)
