A shoe salesman was arrested inside their shop along Campaner Street last Friday for allegedly selling rugby to street children.

Police identified the suspect as Rodolfo Oliveria, Jr. y Teves, 50, married, a resident of Zambowood and a salesman of Pineda Shoe Supply in Campaner Street.

Investigation showed that police received reports that Oliveria was selling rugby to minors right inside their shop.

Acting on the report, policemen from the Central Police Station’s Investigation Section led by SPO1 Melvin Yee Abil decided to monitor the store for confirmation.

A couple of minutes later, policemen spotted  Oliveria selling the prohibited substance to street children who went inside the store.

Police immediately entered the store, held Oliveria and seized three bottles of rugby from his possession.

He was detained at the police station.

Oliveria is facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1619, which  penalizes the use, possession or the unauthorized sale to minors of volatile substances for the purpose of inducing intoxication or any manner changing, distorting or disturbing the auditory, visual or mental process.
