The City Health Office (CHO) has warned the public about susceptibility on heat-induced diseases during the summer months.
Among diseases that can be obtained by bathing in dirty water are skin diseases and ear infections.
City Health Officer Dr Rodel Agbulos also warned the public against heat stroke, viral infections, influenza, chicken pox, measles and sore eyes.
These are diseases that are commonly reported during the summer months.
“Since it’s summer el calor grabe we should keep ourselves hydrated para hinde falta agua na cuerpo and be prone to infection,” said Agbulos.
Agbulos particularly warns senior citizens to always be hydrated since this group is susceptible to high blood pressure.
Agbulos also recommends the use of sunglasses and avoid the direct heat from sunlight.
Meanwhile, Agbulos also asked parents to always guard their children when swimming in pools and beaches to avoid drowning incidents.
