Mayor Celso Lobregat encourages residents and visitors alike to utilize the recreational and entertainment facilities now offered at the Zamboanga Economic Zone and Freeport Authority in San Ramon.
Mayor Lobregat on Sunday joined Ecozone Administrator Georgina Yu, Vice Mayor Cesar Iturralde and some members of the City Council in unveiling the Zambo Ecozone Mar y Monte Nature Park and Resort, established to provide recreation and entertainment to the people.
The facilities unveiled included the Zamboecozone water park, condotels, 10-pin bowling lanes, zip line and cable cars. They now form part of the 60-hectare industrial area and are expected to boost tourism and investment.
‘We invite everyone to come and visit the ecozone and enjoy the different facilities there”, the mayor urged, as he expressed elation over the transformations taking place at the Zamboecozone.
Aside from recreation and entertainment, the ecozone can also be a venue for meetings and conferences, he said.
Lobregat is confident that the Zamboecozone has all the potentials of being the business hub in this part of the country and the opening of the recreational and entertainment facilities is one way of heightening awareness about the ecozone.
For inquiries and reservations, the public can call the Zambo Ecozone office at telephone numbers 992-0409 or 9261614.
Also present during the inauguration Sunday were Councilors Nonong Guingona, Myra Paz Abubakar, Rogelio Valesco Jr. and Tzu Chi Foundation head Dr. Anton Lim.
The Zambo Ecozone was established pursuant to a law authored by the late Congresswoman and Mayor Maria Clara Lobregat in the 1990’s. — Sheila Covarrubias
