2nd District Congressman Mannix Dalipe has accused former 2nd Congressional District candidate Abdulkarim Ladjamatli of taking his place as PDP party candidate during the 2016 elections by unduly obtaining and using his Certificate of Nomination and submitting such as the latter’s own.

This, as Dalipe continues to assert his membership with the PDP party amid an overwhelming movement of  officials to the party during oathtaking ceremonies last Wednesday.

Dalipe said that he has been a member of the PDP party until the 2016 elections when he was compelled to run under the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) after Ladjamatli was the one who used his PDP Certificate of Nomination.

When asked why he outrightly decided against getting another CONA from PDP and instead secured a new one from the NPC, Dalipe said that he was pressed for time.

Dalipe also explained that he finds that all political parties in the Philippines “generally” have similar platforms and it wouldn’t matter which party he is affiliated with.

Dalipe however said that after the election, he went to see PDP Secretary General Pantaleon Alvarez to explain his unintended exit and ask for his return to the party.

His explanation was well-received by Alvarez, according to Dalipe.

The Second District Congressman said that to formalize his return to the party, he took an oath before the House Speaker in a still undisclosed hotel in Manila.

Dalipe gave the statement amid the refusal of new PDP member First District Congressman Celso Lobregat to invite him to the Basic Membership Seminar and Oath taking ceremonies held to accept new PDP members in Zamboanga city last Wednesday.

Lobregat vehemently denies Dalipe’s membership in the party and said that the latter is not invited to the event.  (Liza Jocson)
