BJMP 9 accepts applicants for Jail Officers PDF Print E-mail

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) regional office 9 is now ready to accept applications for those who are interested to apply as Jail Officer 1.

BJMP revealed that the bureau is now set to hire 1,000 Jail Officer 1 (JO1) nationwide for the year 2018.

However, Jail Officer 1 April Roanne Nono, Zamboanga City Jail community relations service, disclosed in an interview that they have yet to receive the quota for JO1for the region.

Nono said that nevertheless those interested and qualified applicants may now start getting the requirements and apply for the position as the recruitment process will not be easy.

For those interested, requirements are as follows: he or she must be a citizen of the Philippines; a person of good moral character; passed the physical, medical, drug test, dental, and neuropsychiatric evaluation; a graduate of a baccalaureate degree; must possess civil service eligibility; must not been dishonorably discharge from previous employment; must not be convicted by final judgement; must not be less than 21 nor more than 30 years old; must be 1.62 meters for male and 1.57 meters for female; and must not weigh not more or less than 5 kg from the standard weight corresponding to his or her height, age, and sex.

Other requirements also includes personal data sheet revised 2005, two pieces latest passport size picture with name tag, original transcript of records, original diploma, birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority, certificate of eligibility or board rating, valid clearances like NBI, MTC, RTC, and Prosecutors Office, community tax certificate, certificate of previous and present employment, certificate of trainings, and if married certificate from Philippine Statistics Authority.

These documents will be submitted to BJMP Regional Office IX Barangay Leneienza, Pagadian City. Attention: Chief, HRD/PRM Division. Information is also available at www.bjmp.gov.ph

After completing the requirements, applicants will take the entry examination for BJMP, physical, dental, medical and neuropsychiatric examination will be done, initial and panel interview, background check, oath taking, and the four months training at the National Jail Training Institute at Calamba Laguna.

“This is a job opportunity which comes once in a lifetime. The quota is big it’s a waste if they will not try to apply,” Nono said.

She said that in the BJMP, there is security of tenure and they can practice whatever talent they have as the bureau is open to all professions such as teachers, nurses, engineers and others.

The basic pay for Jail Officer 1 is  P14,834 not including other benefits and incentives.

There are 20 jails under BJMP region 9 which includes: Basilan City Jail, Zamboanga City Jail, Zamboanga City Jail Female Dormitory, Ipil District Jail, Ipil Female Dormitory, Kabasalan Municipal Jail, Pagadian City Jail, Pagadian Female Dormitory, Molave Municipal Jail, Ramon Magsaysay Municipal Jail, Mahayag Municipal Jail, Duminag Municipal Jail, Tambulig Municipal Jail, Dipolog City Jail, Dipolog Female Dormitory, Dapitan City Jail, Sindangan District Jail, Salug District Jail, Liloy Municipal Jail, and Siocon Municipal Jail.
