Government and school officials led the inauguration of the P32-million 4-storey, 20-classroom building of Baliwasan Senior High School yesterday morning.

The turnover was spearheaded by Schools Division Superintendent Felix Triambulo and First District Congressman Celso Lobregat.

The project aims to decongest the classrooms and thus provide a conducive learning atmosphere for students.

At present, the current student-classroom at the Baliwasan school is 72 to 1, far from the ideal 40 to 1 aspired for by most learning institutions.

The school has 1,451 students.

"Taking care of this building is not only the responsibility of your school administrators, teachers, parents, but also the students.  They must take good care of this new building," Lobregat said.

For his part, BSHS School Principal Romeo Vallesteros thanked Lobregat for his support to quality education in the city.

"El deveras lang, from rags to riches el de amon escuela aqui na (BSHS). Si nuay si Cong.Celso, nuay Baliwasan Senior High, poreso ta rindi kame conele miles de gracias.  He made everything possible for us" Vallesteros said. (Dexter Yap)
